Stage 1 - 9.30am to 1 pm, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2019

Have you always wanted to write a book but don’t know where to begin? Perhaps you have a great story idea but need help getting started? If you’re ready to learn more and are dedicated to kick-starting this goal, then this is the course for you!

This accelerated course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to start writing a book and take their writing to the next level.

During two morning sessions you will

- Set writing and creativity goals

- Learn the basics of the writing process

- Understand “genre” and the conventions of different genres

- Learn the critical skills needed to plan and write engaging stories

- Understand the fundamental elements of creative writing including setting, plot, character, conflict, and themes 


Course outcome

By the end of this course, you should have a basic outline or plan for your book. You will understand basic writing terms and have the essential tools and resources to start writing your first chapter.

Upon course completion, you will also gain exclusive access to a private Facebook group filled with resources and access to a growing community of dedicated writers.

About the course facilitator

Naomi Tsvirko is an award-winning Australian writer, journalist, and English teacher. She has worked as a freelance editor in the publishing industry and is passionate about storytelling. She has a Communications degree (Writing) and a Teaching degree. Naomi believes that with the right tools, everyone has the potential to write captivating stories.
